Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict
1.He is a bad hunter.Also he was hungry.
2.His foot got hurt so he can't hunt. Also he could look harder for his food.

Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter?
1.What happend was that the boy was drawing and painting animals.Also tao saw a wolf and turned around and attacked the wolf.

Chapter 3
1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together?
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel.

3.I fell like I should let Tao eat but, he must bring some food to eat.Also I would feel like I would stop him from

#1.I agree with Graybeard.I think what he says is true then and not now,because if someone draws on the floor it is not really taboo.

Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today.

#1.He used bright red earth yellow clay and limestone powder also fish oil shallow stone dishes ,and charcoal dust.I think the fish oil suprised me most.
#2.He is afraid because Graybeard is sick.

I am suprised that Volt is Tao's father.I didn't realize that Volt was actually Tao's father.I think I notice that Volt was Tao's father when Volt tried to protect him.I thout that Volt would let him die from the bull.

Chapter 18
Why does Tao feel he needs to go to the Mountain People?
He feels thay he should go to the mountain people because he thinks he should follow Graybeards footsteps.
